Support The Descent

Help this project continue to grow

Some questions need time: time to read, to return to an image, to reconsider an interpretation, and to find words for what remains difficult to name.

The Gothic Descent is my ongoing exploration of grief, identity, care and belonging through literature, Gothic imagery and Jungian thought.

It takes shape through essays, seasonal journals and shorter reflections, gathered in a library organised around the human questions that connect them.

If this work has given you something to think with, you can help sustain its continuation.

Supporting independent projects like this helps make room for cultural conversations about loss, care, identity and belonging in our time.

What your support makes possible

Behind each publication are hours of reading, research, writing and revision.

Your contribution helps make room for that work, supports access to books and research materials, and helps sustain the website where these investigations come together.

It also supports the gradual development of reading notebooks and other materials through which readers can explore these questions for themselves.

The library grows through the work I am able to finish and share. Your support helps make that possible.

A contribution to the work in progress

You can make a one-off contribution in an amount that feels right for you.

This is a way to support the project as it develops. It does not purchase a publication, membership or individual guidance.

I will continue sharing the evolution of the work through the website and newsletter, where you can follow new writing and see how the different investigations take shape.

Other ways to support the project

Reading, sharing a piece with someone who might find it meaningful, or returning with a question also helps this work enter into conversation.

You can explore the library or join the newsletter to stay close to what comes next.

Thank you for being here and for taking an interest in a project that is such an important part of my life.
